About this event

Life Stories of Anti-Slavery Abolitionists - A 2023 Intergenerational Reading Group

Organized by Mariame Kaba [as promised on Twitter] and co-facilitated with Geoff Johnson.

This reading group is:

Intergenerational - open to anyone15 years old and up

Virtual, bi-monthly

Sundays - 4 to 5:30 pm ET

Books can also be requested from local public libraries

The fifth session is September 17, 2023 and we will discuss William & Ellen Craft.

We are reading Master Slave Husband Wife: An Epic Journey from Slavery to Freedom by Ilyon Woo (2023).

This is a long book but an engrossing one. It's also a new book that was released in 2023 so there is no paperback copy available yet unfortunately.

Zoom link will be emailed a few days before the session.
